A Happy Melancholy

I know it`s a strange title for an entry, but it sums up how I`m feeling .....

My daughter has raised enough money to go on her trip, (although she still owes more and needs more sponsors.)

She left last night.

-- Happy that she got to go on her trip ......

Melancholy now that she is gone.

I miss her and feel alone.

The Lord will look after her, you try & not worry...just relax & enjoy some "me" time. She'll be back with lots of stories to tell.

And this is the natural course of parenthood.  She is taking the steps to become her own person.  While that will evetually lead to her own life, the two of you will have a bond that will overcome all distances.

Parent /child bonding, the natural
phenomenon, is re-enacted so often
that perhaps sometimes taken too
much for granted. What a comfort
your daughter must be for you. Brava!
[In my own life my daughter, age 35,
is going to Australia to visit relatives,
and the grave site of her paternal
grandmother who has the same name.]

What an adventure for her! Travelling is part of life's education. There are things you learn that you just can't get in a classroom.  I know you miss her, but just think of all of the stories you will hear!
Love and hugs,
Pam

I know just how you feel, Penny.  When Megan left to get on that plane for Asia, I just wanted to snatch her back.  I think it's the distance because I wasn't that bad when she went to France, and she was much younger.  Once you hear from her, things will get better, and the time will fly by.  Love you, Chris

You must miss her terribly but you must be so proud of all she is doing. Saying prayers for her while she's so far away from home. She'll be back soon I hope.
