Introducing The Digital Whisperer

                                 Park Gazebo

Today was a picture perfect day - literally. As you can see, I was out taking pictures. Unlike Greg, I don`t travel with 30 pounds of camera gear. I travel with my digital, which is roughly - oh, a few ounces. Actually, I didn`t even really travel, as these are pictures from my own town.

My new camera has so many buttons and gadgets, I haven`t even begun to know what they`re all for. I don`t know when the lighting is great for a picture and when it`s not. Unlike Greg, I can`t consider myself a photo trekker ( check out his journal, the guy is a great photographer. ) I`m more like a digital whimperer. ( which doesn`t sound too cool, so I upped it one. ) I hereby proclaim myself to be The Digital Whisperer. LOL

I do hope you`ve enjoyed this small slice of  my town, my pieces of Ohio.

I love the pictures, Penny!  LoL..at the digital whisperer.  I think I'm still in the digital whimperer stage.  I'm just so clueless.  Today and yesterday were both super lovely days here in Pa.  I'm still waiting for the darned leaves to change.  Glad you got your camera up and running.  Love you, Chris  (You're getting some cute siggies, there girl..lol.)

To be honest (you'd not want
anything else. right?) Online so far
I've concentrated exclusively on
the subject of writing. Photography
has in the past been a passion, photos
of people, espectialy of my own children,
for which so far I don't have a digital
camera although I have all my film transferred
to a CD by Kodak.  What I like to do is use
flash fill that can't easily be detected as such.
My present, small, almost pocket size film
camera was made by Polaroid in Malaya. It
has five different ways to use built-in flash.
(Low Power). The camera of my dreams is
a Leica, of  which I've owned three,*** but
for flash fill you'd have a clumsy, big nuisance,
and lose all spontaniety.

I'm afraid of showing off Online with my pictures,
and taking time away from learning how to write
English. To be honest, again, I'm actually a bit
disappointed in how much applause photos get
Online, and how writing is passed over. Largely
not even read, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.............

Your pictures are great.

Penny, you are much too kind, but thanks for the mention.  I too chuckled at your new moniker of Digital Whisperer.  My wife will appreciate that as well, cause she always laughs at me when I'm setting up a shot and start talking to myself.  Anyway, I think your pictures are very good.  You have a strong leading line in the Gazebo shot, and have achieved a nice balance.  The Church Tower is also a very good shot.  The exposure is nearly perfect allowing detail to remain in the brick, while not blowing out the sky.  I like where you decided to put the flag in A Walk in the Park.

Don't become overly concerned with the technical aspects of photography, or the equipment.  Your photographs should come from the heart, not a text book.  If you see something that excites you, capture it the way you see it.  You will find that others will share the same excitement that you did.  You have given me an idea for my next tips and tricks though.  I think I might just do it on lighting and exposure concerns.

I am still getting used to my first digital camera and am no where near as great as you are with yours.  These pictures are full of color and are like art prints.  They are really, really spectacular.
Hugs to you my dear sweet friend,
