Too Hot

Okay, it`s over 90 degrees here today. Thankfully I went to an air conditioned church - onto an air conditioned restaurant - onto air conditioned Kohl`s and now I`m in my air conditioned home! I do step outside now and then.

Funny thing is, I never used to care or even paid any attention to the temperature. It`s 90 degrees? So what, I was ready to get a tan and then go out and have fun. There`s a blizzard? It never stopped my friends and I from going anywhere. ( We even slept in the car once in a hotel parking lot in Detroit during a snow storm. Who heads farther north in February?? )

Anyhow, on the other side of the world my daughter says it`s really cold in New Zealand and she has purchased a winter coat! She loves it there, though. I have been researching NZ quite a bit over the past couple months and it is one place I`d really love to go.

So I bought pajamas today at Kohl`s. Nothing like new pj`s. I had a gift card so that`s why I went as I`m broke otherwise! I love Sundays and going to church, but I find I do tend to get a tad lonely later in the afternoon, so I tried to stay busy today and it has helped.

I`ve been divorced now for close to 5 years, separated a year before that. I keep hoping for that nice Christian gentleman to come along and fill the gap that I sometimes feel in my life. It is something I pray about and if it`s meant to be I know God will bring him my way when the time is right.

I hate to whine or complain when I am so blessed. And one thing I don`t do very often is make myself vulnerable or express myself emotionally in this journal. There are some things going on that I just don`t discuss here. But I`m definitely "the glass is half full" kind of a person. I`m learning more and more each day to truly trust in the Lord in all matters and it keeps me even.

Well, I`m off to read some journals and shower and have a big glass of cold Pepsi.   :)

The latest good book I`m reading is River Angel by A. Manette Ansay.

Hi Penny
I know where you're coming from.  I've been divorced for 7 yrs now.  Didn't think I'd stay single so long.  I dated a really nice guy for a year but old fears stopped me from moving forward with him.  I've two great kids and even a grandgirl.  I know....52 is too young to be a grandma. (grin)  We are blessed and we just need to remind ourselves.  If it weren't for my girlfriends, I'd probably go nuts.
Enjoy your Sunday AND your air conditioner.  This heat is a killer. Can you imagine if we lived on the west coast !!

LOL...I'm hating the cold now but don't mind the heat as long as the AC is working in the house and car.  I really should avoid the pool because of the son, as my Joey keeps reminding me, but dang, I'm giving up a big vice already.  Stay cool.  I'm anxious to hear more of how Corey's trip is going.  What an experience!

Your guy will show up one day, Penny.  I'm finding that I'm sort of enjoying my aloneness right now since my BF is working.  Weird, hunh?  Love ya, Chris

Just stopping by to say hi.
I think it was 90 here today too, I didn't get out all day, stayed in & lounged around.
I hate when it's too hot or too cold...70 all yr round would be great for me. :)
If it be Gods will, your man will come along...you have plenty of time. {{ }} Just be open, but don't settle for anything less than the real deal! ;)

Sugar

It was 93 in the shade here about 6:00 this evening...Whew!  I'm so thankful for the A/C.  My cup unlike yours is overflowing...but it did take me awhile to get there.  Just keep on trusting in the good Lord.  We just never know what He has planned for us.  I always pray Your will, not mine... 'On Ya' - ma

It's been hot here too. AC all the way!! LOL!

You'll meet that special man when it's time. He might not be ready for you yet. You're a beautiful loving woman. I should think you'd have no problem at all.

I'm having trouble picturing it COLD in New Zealand! I'm glad Corey is having fun!
Love to you,

Came to visit you! Love your journal and will be catching up on it! It's hot here to in NC - the humidity is the worst. My family is in South Africa and they say that they are having a cold winter too!  More so than normal.  Take care and feel free to come and visit me! ~ Caroline  ~

Hi Penny !!!!!!! Its nice to hear from you again. I too love going to Kohl's its fun shopping there. I too try not to complain too much in my journal I'm sure people hate that when I complain. Most of all I just try to share what's going on in my life. Do enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Hi Pennie! Finally got a chance to get over and catch up on you! Read 6 of your entry's, and loved your July 4th graphic, it's cool; love the new pictures of yourself
too-and just not the feet this time! LOL [you have nice looking feet too-some
poor folks have horriable looking tootsties!lol] I see your still waiting for that
special someone to come by-me too! LOL Heck-at this point, he doesn't even have to be a christain-just male, not married, could be widowed, don't care, could be
divorced, that's OK too-as long as he's REALLY divorced AND not still emotionally
attached, and he must have a job! LOL, preferably a WELL PAYING JOB, because
I'm tired of struggeling; but I know at my age, and medical problems, it's just
not gonna happen!; you had me laughing talkin about your excersise routine
[or lack of] in the AM! LOL I HATE excersising too-but I have aquired a belly,
and some extra 'rolls' on each of my sides, that I can't deal with-and my upper
arms are BAD! Extra saggy skin hanging, ykwim? It HAS TO GO! I can't even
wear a no sleeve blouse/t-shirt any more! So I have decided I WILL do some
sit ups, crunches, and an excersise Kim told me about, leaning on a wall, going
bk & forth-for those arms-Kim is Chris's then girl, if you remember? And she
said those horriable 'Crunches' are better than sit ups-which I hate also! LOL
I will not run, or jog-no-that I can't do with my hip...and I doubt I have the
energry anyway! Thanks for sharing Pen....more pictures please! LOL You have
such a pretty face! And I love your hair color! ~Diane~ http://journals.aol.com/dizarra/StorysFromtheCityTalesFromtheSea/
